Gingerbread cakes bearing the impress of a beautiful woman bien coiffée, with a serpents tail; made by confectioners for the May fair in the neighbourhood of Lusignan, near Poitiers. The allusion is to the transformation of the fairy Melusina every Saturday. (See above.)
