Graces, holiness. Called “the candle of the Lord,” the “lamp of God,” as, “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord.” (Prov. xx. 27.)   1
        “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works.”—Matt. v. 16.
   To stand in one’s own light. To act in such a way as to hinder advancement.   2
