hypercritical, hypocritical (adjs.)
To be hypercritical is to be supercritical, too severely critical, as in Her hypercritical nagging about his manners finally drove him away. To be hypocritical is to be a hypocrite, one who pretends to virtues without justification, as in His hypocritical imitation of deepest piety would never have fooled even the most naive missionary.
