annunciate, enunciate (vv.), annunciation, enunciation (nn.)

Annunciate is a very rare verb meaning “to announce, to proclaim.” Enunciate overlaps the “announce” meaning but also means “to state positively or definitely, to pronounce clearly, and to speak distinctly.” The possibility of inadvertent misspelling also exists for the two nouns (The Annunciation refers to Gabriel’s telling Mary she would bear Jesus—from Luke 1:26–38—and to the Christian festival commemorating that event.) In most connected speech, they’re homophones.  1
