| Annunciate is a very rare verb meaning to announce, to proclaim. Enunciate overlaps the announce meaning but also means to state positively or definitely, to pronounce clearly, and to speak distinctly. The possibility of inadvertent misspelling also exists for the two nouns (The Annunciation refers to Gabriels telling Mary she would bear Jesusfrom Luke 1:2638and to the Christian festival commemorating that event.) In most connected speech, theyre homophones. | 1 |
