There are two verbs, both Standard, one from cardplaying, meaning “to declare cards for scoring, as in pinochle,” and another, a blend of melt and weld, meaning “to blend or merge or combine,” as in His music melds folk and country-western themes. Both verbs have used functional shift to create nouns: Her meld won the game. The sauce was a meld of unidentifiable but delicious-smelling things.  1
