faker, fakir (nn.)
 
 
A faker (pronounced FAIK-uhr) is “one who deceives by faking and hence a cheat or confidence man,” and a fakir (pronounced fuh-KEER or FAI-KEER; variant spelling fakeer) is “a Muslim beggar or dervish” or “a Hindu ascetic or magician.”  1
