His cabinet included Socialists and Communists, who later dropped out as the regime moved to the Right. 1 1947, Oct Communist-led strikes brought the arrest of 200 Communists and a break in diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union . 2 1948, Sept 2 The Communist Party was outlawed , but strikes and disorders continued. 3 1949 4 March Parliamentary elections gave the government coalition a majority. 5
