Originally used to advertise Wendy’s Hamburgers, the words were taken up by Mondale’s campaign team after a televised debate in which the candidate told rival Gary Hart, “When I hear your new ideas, I’m reminded of that ad, Where’s the beef?” (March 11, 1984). |
