He collaborated with Chamisso and other writers and wrote Biographische Denkmaler [biographical monuments] (5 vol., 182430). The Berlin salon of his wife, Rahel Antoine Friederike Levin Varnhagen von Ense (17711833), was frequented by leading romantics, among them Heine, Gutzkow, and Laube. |
