Schwerin, Kurt Christoph, Graf von
(krt krs´tôf gräf fn shvrn´) (KEY) , 16841757, Prussian field marshal. He was one of the most brilliant lieutenants of King Frederick II of Prussia in the War of the Austrian Succession and the Seven Years War. In Swedish service before entering (1720) the Prussian army, he served with King Charles XII. His most famous victory was the defeat (1741) of the Austrians at Mollwitz in the War of the Austrian Succession, after Frederick II had fled the field. He was killed in the battle of Prague.
