His numerous works include a history of colonial literature in Chile; Los aborígenes de Chile (1882); biographical works on Juan Díaz de Solis and others; several volumes on the Inquisition; numerous books on the history of printing in Spanish America; and the monumental Biblioteca hispano-americana (7 vol., 18981907). |
