Laurentian Mountains
 
 
(lôrn´shn) (KEY)  or Laurentides (lôr´ntdz´´, lär´–, –tdz´´) (KEY) , S Que., Canada, N of the St. Lawrence and Ottawa rivers, rising to 3,150 ft (960 m) in Mt. Tremblant. The Gatineau, L’Assomption, Lièvre, Montmorency, and St. Maurice rivers rise in lakes in this region, which is a popular year-round recreational area, especially for Montreal and Ottawa. Mt. Tremblant Provincial Park is there.
