Lang, Pearl
 
 
1922–, American dancer and choreographer, b. Chicago. Lang was a soloist with Martha Graham’s company (1942–52) before forming her own company in 1952. As a dancer and choreographer she was noted for her range of dramatic expression in such works as Rites (1953) and Falls the Shadow Between (1957). Lang appeared in Broadway musicals, including Carousel and Finian’s Rainbow. She taught at the Yale Univ. School of Drama and the Juilliard School of Music.
