| |
| |
| 18781955, German painter. After a stay in Paris, where he was influenced by Cézannes works, Hofer settled in Berlin (1913). He developed a restrained expressionist style revealing melancholic psychical isolation in works such as Three Maskers (1922; Wallraf-Richartz Mus., Cologne).
