(güt´rsl) (KEY) , city (1994 pop. 91,630), North Rhine–Westphalia, W Germany. Its diverse industries produce machinery, metal products, and furniture. Gütersloh passed from the bishopric of Osnabrück to Prussia in 1815 and was chartered in 1825.
