Fujinomiya
 
 
(fjn´myä) (KEY) , city (1990 pop. 117,092), Shizuoka prefecture, central Honshu, Japan, at the foot of Mt. Fuji. It is an important railway junction and point of departure for the Mt. Fuji resort region. The city has large paper-pulp, dairy-product, and photographic-materials industries. It is also noted for its shrines, temples, and gardens, especially the Sengen (Shinto) shrine, which was built in the 9th cent.
