(mö´r ô r ms´däl) (KEY) , county (1995 pop. 240,215), 5,820 sq mi (15,074 sq km) W Norway, bordering on the Atlantic Ocean in the west. Molde is the capital. It is a scenic mountainous region, with deep valleys, including the Romsdalen valley, numerous fjords, and many islands. Fishing, tourism, and farming are important, and there are aluminum, textile, shoe, and furniture industries. |
