(dnä´yts) (KEY) , river, 156 mi (250 km) long, rising in the Carpathians, S Poland, and flowing NE past Nowy Scz into the Vistula River. There are hydroelectric stations at Roznów (the largest in Poland), Czchów, and Czorsztyn. In 1975, Poland and Czechoslovakia adjusted their border along Dunajec to accommodate a dam near Czorsztyn.
