Dudok, William
 
 
(d´dôk) (KEY) , 1884–1974, Dutch architect. Dudok developed a dignified, widely influential style emphasizing the horizontal and utilizing an asymmetric effect with cubic groupings. As chief architect of the town of Hilversum, he worked almost exclusively in brick. He also designed theaters, stores, and housing projects, including Erasmus House (1937) and the Bijenkorf Store (1929–30) in Rotterdam.
