(krbvwä´) (KEY) , city (1990 pop. 65,649), Hauts-de-Seine dept., N central France, on the Seine River. An industrial suburb of Paris, Courbevoie manufactures automobiles, bicycles, perfumes, and pharmaceuticals. There are also electrical industries, foundries, and copperworks. There have been many commercial and residential high rises constructed recently. The Avenue du Général de Gaulle, which runs through Courbevoie, is a continuation of the Champs Élysées of Paris.
