(kärzh´) (KEY) , city (1990 pop. 15,036), Geneva canton, SW Switzerland, on the Arve River. It is an industrial center. Carouge was chartered in 1786 by King Victor Amadeus III of Sardinia and was joined to Geneva canton in 1816.
