city (1990 pop. 31,092), Wayne co., SE Mich., a suburb of Detroit; inc. as a city 1957. Its manufactures include motor vehicle and marine prototypes, liquor, and sheet metal. The area was settled in the early 1800s and was named after Lewis Allen, a settler from Detroit.
