ADJECTIVE:1. Feeling or exhibiting nervous tension: edgy, fidgety, jittery, jumpy, nervous, restive, restless, skittish, twitchy. Slang : uptight. Idioms: a bundle of nerves, all wound up, on edge. See TIGHTEN. 2. Stretched tightly: stiff, taut, tight. See TIGHTEN.
