PRONUNCIATION:  mlbr, -b-r
NOUN:1a. Any of several deciduous trees of the genus Morus, having unisexual flowers in drooping catkins and edible multiple fruit. b. The sweet fruit of any of these trees. 2. Any of several similar or related trees. 3. A grayish to dark purple. Also called murrey.
ETYMOLOGY:Middle English mulberrie, from Old English mrberie and Middle Low German mlberi, mrberi : both from Latin mrum + Old English berie, berry or Old High German beri, berry; see bh-1 in Appendix I.
