NOUN:1. A gull-like bird (Fulmarus glacialis) of Arctic regions, having smoky gray plumage. 2. Any of several similar or related birds.
ETYMOLOGY:Dialectal : probably Old Norse fll, foul; see p- in Appendix I + mr, mew; akin to Old English mw.
