NOUN: Any of several Mexican and Central American shrubs or herbs of the genus Bouvardia cultivated for their showy, narrowly tubular, variously colored flowers grouped in terminal cymes.
ETYMOLOGY:New Latin Bouvardia, genus name, after Charles Bouvard (1572–1658), French physician.
