NOUN:1a. Any of several chiefly nocturnal birds of the genus Chordeiles, especially C. minor, having mottled grayish-brown feathers with a white spot on the wings. Also called bullbat, mosquito hawk. b. The European nightjar. 2. Informal A night owl.
