Doom
By Arthur William Edgar O’Shaughnessy (1844–1881)

IN either mood, to bless or curse
  God bringeth forth the breath of man;
No angel sire, no woman nurse
  Shall change the work that God began.

One spirit shall be like a star,        5
  He shall delight to honour one:
Another spirit he shall mar:
  None shall undo what God hath done.
