To a Cool Breeze

Mark Turbyfill

From “Wind-flowers”

YOU have come,

After sun-stung days,

As gold greatly wished—

Dearer

Than the loveliness of all songs.

Sweep over these arms,

This throat, this brow,

Parched with fire!
