Harriet Monroe, ed. (1860–1936).  Poetry: A Magazine of Verse.  1912–22.

Seedtime
By Clement Wood

NOT too deep we plant the grain,
So that it can rise again
To re-green the naked field,
Minting all its golden yield.

But these war-killed men should sleep        5
Planted deep, planted deep.
They have had their share of pain,
And they would not rise again.
