Open a Door
By May Thomas Milam

OPEN a door suddenly,
  And you may see
Loved ones whom you call dead
  Happy and free.

Listen—oh, stealthily!—        5
  You’ll find it true,
These whom you weep for
  Are pitying you.

Close the door softly,
  Lest they may learn        10
They have been spied on,
  And never return.
