Melodrama

Leo Grudsky

YOUR lips were attentive under my kisses

To desperate whispers of escape.

My sobs of renunciation

Lay stunned with your gratitude.

And when your petals, weirdly late,

Have graciously covered me,

Will my heart, a bit ashamed,

Smile at a distant fragrance?
