THEY say that I am out at heels,

And that my coat is shoddy.

What would they say if they saw my heart?

Don’t tell anybody!

They say I am a ne’er-do-well,

Ambitionless and lazy.

What would they say if they saw my soul?

Aren’t people crazy?
