SWISH—swish—flash by the spokes of the Wheel of Pain;
Dizzily runs the whining rim.
Way down in the cool dark is slow-revolving sleep,
But I hang heavily writhing in hot chains
High in the crimson stillness of my body,        5
And the swish-swish of the spokes of the Wheel of Pain.
