The Argo seen by a Shepherd who has never seen a Ship

TANTA moles labitur

fremibunda ex alto ingenti sonitu et spiritu.

prae se undas uoluit, uertics ui suscitat:

ruit prolapsa, pelagus respargit reflat.

ita dum interruptum credas nimbum uoluier,

dum quod sublime uentis expulsum rapi

saxum aut procllis, uel globosos turbines

existere ictos undis concursantibus:

nisi quas terrestris pontus strages conciet,

aut forte Triton fuscina euertens specus

supter radices penitus undante in freto

molem ex profundo saxeam ad caelum euehit.
