VVLGARE amici nomen, sed rara est fides.
  cum paruas aedis sibi fundasset Socrates
(cuius non fugio mortem si famam adsequar,
et cedo inuidiae, dummodo absoluar cinis),
ex populo sic nescio quis, ut fieri solet;        5
‘quaeso, tam angustam talis uir ponis domum?’
‘utinam’ inquit ‘ueris hanc amicis impleam!’
