Frank J. Wilstach, comp.  A Dictionary of Similes.  1916.

Thomas Ashe

A sweet bewildering pain,
Like flowers in the wind and rain.
  1
As fair as summer roses.  2
Fluctuated like a stormy sea, urged by the secret Furies.  3
Follow’d her desire, as sunlight tracks the shadow of a cloud.  4
Glided like a flame of wind-blown fire.  5
  Green as a leaf.  6
  Happy as the sunlight.  7
Lips, as smooth and tender … as rose-leaves in a coppice wild.  8
  Noiseless as the sunlight.  9
Turn’d, as a vessel holds to sea, when near a Siren strand.  10
Weak as unfledged nestling in the falcon’s grip.  11
Like a cowslip, growing wild.  12
