Frank J. Wilstach, comp. A Dictionary of Similes. 1916.

William Blake

Curl’d like a lamb’s back.

His face is fair as heaven.

Fade away like morning beauty from her mortal day.

Frowned like a fury.

Happy as birds in the spring.

Loud as Sinai’s trumpet-sound.

Helpless, naked, piping loud,
Like a fiend hid in a cloud.

Armies rush’d like warring mighty seas.

Smile like a cherub.

Smiled like a siren.

Swift as arrow.

White as an angel.
