Days of the week Activities during the week Thursday 12/22/2016 I arranged all my work to their respective folders and files, read the learning guide, read part of the reading material (Introduction to Statistical Thinking (With R, Without Calculus) again to gain a better understanding ) and watched couples of videos relating to the sampling distribution to gain a better understanding of the topic. I also graded my peer’s unit 6 written assignments. Friday 12/23/2016 I read the chapter 7 of the Introduction to Statistical Thinking (With R, Without Calculus) again to gain a better understanding and the Math1280notes.pdf. Saturday 12/24/2016 N/A Sunday 12/25/2016 I submitted the discussion assignment. Monday 12/26/2016 I had a first attempt on …show more content…
(Yakir, 2011, p. 73) b) What is the Law of Large Numbers? ________ Answer: The law of large numbers, according to Yakir (2011) is the principle of probability that defines the sampling distribution of the average or mean for large samples. The more the number of trials increases, the more the actual proportion of events converges on the hypothetical ratio of outcomes. (p. 115-116) 3) Describe in your own words (do not directly quote any source) the difference between the distribution of a sample and the sampling distribution. Use an example in which the original population has a binomial distribution. You will probably use concepts from the book or another source, so be sure to cite any concepts that come from such sources (even if you paraphrase). Answer: Sampling distribution of a sample statistics is the hypothetical distribution of the sample statistics of interest for a random sample, whereas the distribution of a sample is the probabilistic distribution of the ideas in the sample. The sampling distribution indicates how likely it is to get some definite sample when one draws a large amount of samples and the distribution of a sample shows how possible it is to get a particular data in a single random
• Provide at least two examples or problem situations in which statistics was used or could be used.
The eligibility requirements in the Constitution for members of the Senate are you must be at least 30 years old in age, you must have been a citizen in the US for at least 9 years, and you have to be an inhabitant of the U.S. for at least 14 years not from the state that you originated
Executive - Mainly used by the President, this power enforces the law. This power also grants the ability to veto the proposal for a law, appoint federal posts, negotiate foreign treaties, appoint federal judges, and grant pardons for a crime.
When a business breaches a contract, serious consequences can occur resulting in damages and losses. An expected service or agreement that is not complied with impacts everyone involved. A breach of contract can reduce earnings while also potentially harming future profits. It also puts a company’s value at risk if it cannot satisfy demands for products or meet deadlines. Often, monetary damages result from breach of contract claims. Claims are most often made by party who met its requirements against the party it alleges has not. Damages involved are typically lost revenues, sales impacts involve claims for lost value, and added costs resulting from the breach. Damages estimates are made using historical information and projections to support a plaintiff’s claim
Explains to students that learning the metric system can be tricky but that a handy dandy reference tool can make memorizing and converting metric operations quite a bit easier. Explain to the that the whole class will get to make a metric tablet which has all of the metric labels and conversion so they can refer to it as they do their homework throughout the year.
How do reading specialist work with their district to choose assessments that align with curriculum to help inform instruction?
The Panel Designer is used to create graphic panels. I used these panels to change the values of discrete and continuous environment variables interactively during the simulation. From the Toolbox and the Symbol Explorer I placed controls and symbols via drag and drop on an open panel. The properties of the selected objects are displayed in a table format which I synchronized with the signal being depicted by the control. This division of all these windows makes the process to configure the panel and its controls virtually dialog-free. A brief description of them are as follows.
Unit 2 was somewhat challenging, having to do the our first programming assignment was confusing at first, after doing all the reading and the quiz, I was still trying to assimilate all the new terms, what they meant and how would use it in the future.
In Unit 1, many topics and concepts about motion were covered. We started out with the basic ideas of motion into much harder ideas. Before that though, we learned how to read graphs to determine their mathematical expression and the keywords needed to understand motion. Such words includes position, velocity, acceleration, displacement, speed, instantaneous velocity, etc. Building off of that idea, we went on learning how to draw and describe acceleration arrows, motion maps, x, and v, and graphs based on the given scenario. Furthermore, we also learned how to calculate position and slope. We know that to calculate the position, the equation is position= (velocity) (time) + initial position and that the slope is the change in position over
The amount of mental processing power needed to absorb new content has a profound impact on a person’s ability to learn.
Basically a break statement is used to exit the current executing loop, only the inner most loop is terminated. For example look at the following code
Explain each sampling technique discussed in the “Visual Learner: Statistics” in your own words, and give examples of when each technique would be appropriate.
Course Description: This course is designed to give students the basic skills to organize and summarize data, as well as an introduction to the fundamental principles and application of statistical inference. The course emphasizes an
I'm not going to lie, at first I thought "OMG what have I got myself into?". But after freaking out and hyperventilating, I calmed myself and regrouped. I then realized that it wasn't as bad as I thought thirty minutes prior. Since I have never used any statistical data program before, everything looked "greek" to me. What really helped me was reading the chapters in the book to become more familiar with all this new information. I don't know which program I like the best yet because I have not worked enough with each of them. I am sure that by the time that this class is over I will be able to decide which one works best for me, or at least I hope
The field of statistics is a standout amongst the most ordinarily utilized numerical fields as a part of ordinary life and is available in games, media, and business organizations. The world depends on insights to assemble essential data and to precisely anticipate data for different imperative purposes. Nonetheless, the field of statistics is not as ancient as society may think it to be. It was initiated in the mid Twentieth Century with the establishing of the primary statistics departments on the planet. Karl Pearson, the admirable mathematician, is known by multiple people as the "father" of modern statistics, a eugenist, publisher of books in the mathematic, science and philosophy field. Karl Pearson 's contributions to the
