JD Ham Professor Katherine Johnston CSE/ISE 300 Literature Review April 18, 2017 Cloud Computing The focus of cloud computing is providing with scalable and a cheap on-demand computing infrastructure with a good quality of service levels. The process of the cloud computing involves a set of network enabled services that can be accessed in a simple and general way. Cloud computing provides with a unique value proposition for any organization to outsource their information and communication technology infrastructure. Moreover, the concept itself provides with a value proposition for an organization as using the cloud saves on cost, resources, and staff, and business opportunities for the organization (Katzan). An extensive connectivity of …show more content…
However, research focusing on the adoption of cloud computing technology and its impact on business operation is limited. This trend may be explained by cloud computing being a relatively new field. Available research on the structures, processes, security measures surrounding the cloud services are still at an early stage. The impact of cloud computing on enterprises in the world today Cloud computing has changed the Information Technology by introducing a new concept and platform of enterprise system. The traditional enterprise system is characterized as clunky, expensive, and complex for most organization to implement and use. Nevertheless, cloud computing enterprise system offers with a competitive advantage. The advantage offered lies in the cloud ES offering flexibility, scalability, and independence in IT infrastructure and capabilities. Cloud computing holds great potential for the business world and has many advantages and challenges. Cloud enterprise system offers with an attractive option to businesses in solving problems associated with high investment in Information Technology infrastructure and Information Technology resources (Fortiş, Munteanu and Negru). Today cloud computing is considered as the fifth utility after water, electricity, gas, and telephone. The aim is making cloud services readily available on demand like all other utility
This case gives us a fundamental understanding of the concept of cloud computing and presents the advantages and issues of this IT infrastructure. This case gives a clear vision of the company’s current situation. Three main questions to consider
This research paper tackles the issues that faces Cloud Computing today and gives the experts and industry’s point of view on the matter. The aspects explored are the significant industry questions that have risen about the use of Cloud Computing, business value, organization impact, adaptability, limitations, initial cost of implementation, and the severe business security risks
Cloud computing has grown in popularity to the point that it is now becoming the preferred method of the business community for accessing services on the Internet. This paper examines the reasons for this growth and explores the benefits and drawbacks of this technology.
It would be fair to say that cloud computing has changed the way the business used to do. With the evolution of cloud computing, IT companies can get software to hardware and infrastructure to staff requirement on demand. Cloud service providers also fully mange the services which can be provided at any time. Cloud computing utilizes a combination of the internet (cloud) and computer technology (computing). It is broadly defined as methods to deliver information or services to customers who pay for what they use. It uses the architecture in which one provider is giving services to multiple organizations. This paper, I will be discussing about risk and challenges of cloud computing. My main focus on the paper will be over cloud, its standardization, challenges/concerns and current business transformation.
The introduction of cloud computing infrastructure has brought in many changes to the infrastructure of any IT organization. Cloud computing has become the latest and most advanced infrastructure service to date. More and more companies are migrating to cloud computing service as days go, as they provide more flexibility and scalability and user friendliness in many aspects of an IT infrastructure.
Cloud computing is basically a model based on “pay as you go” that reflects the best business approach for the organization to pay only for the services that are used. Organizations have adopted this approach rapidly due to the attributes of minimal investment, rapid deployment along with cost reduction. Thus, the organizations are free from monitoring and managing the technical issues as it is offered by the service providers. According to Modi, et al. [2], around 91% international organizations have adopted the model of cloud computing for its significant element of cost reduction.
Cloud computing is one of the newest major evolutions in the technology industry. It is a paradigm where computing resources become available at any time, from anywhere just having an Internet connection. The cloud eliminates the need to be physically close to the hardware containing the data user wants to obtain. It can own both hardware and software necessary to run business applications. Cloud service also reduces costs for a company, by excluding the need to buy additional servers and memory storages. Furthermore, because this method of computing uses the pay-as-you-go payment method, it charges organisation based on the usage. This means that business can purchase more space or reduce their subscription as it is required
Recently, Cloud technology has turn out to be a huge buzzword, and with good reason. The cloud already creates remarkable value for clients and businesses by making the digital world simpler, faster, more powerful, and more efficient. In addition to bringing valued Internet-based services and applications, the cloud can provide a more
This project is going to discuss about the Cloud Computing and its application in business. To briefly describe what cloud
IT industry being one of the major development areas, many people choose their career in it. To support all range of industries i.e., from small scale to large scale, cloud computing emerged which reduces the efforts both physically and with regard to capital investment.
Over the past several years, cloud computing has been getting attention as a new computing model for providing flexible and on-demand infrastructures, platforms, and software as services. Cloud computing is a technology through exchange of information and software management. Cloud computing allows users to use computer technology without the installation in their computers. It allows users to access their files or data from any computer having an internet connection. Cloud computing provides more efficient computing by centralizing data storage, processing and bandwidth. This technology emphases on virtualization of the host server or the controlling computer. The server acts as a communication network through which information could be shared. The information can be stored, retrieved and shared as and when required through a widespread global platform.
Cloud computing is the growing method of computing adopted by many organizations nowadays around the world. The word ‘cloud’ refers to the network, the servers providing the cloud services can be located anywhere in the world (Garg & Buyya, 2012). The services are provided through internet and made available to the end users. Several definitions are given for the cloud computing in the literature. According to (Mell & Grance, 2011), “Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. This Cloud model promotes availability and is composed of five essential characteristics, three service models, and four deployment models.” Different advantages of having cloud computing includes, services are available on demand, the users have to pay only as per the use and the services are accessible from anywhere as it is available over network. There are different service models and deployment models available for cloud computing.
In this report is basically about the introduction to the term, characteristics, services and facilities related to internet-based computing, generally known as cloud computing. Apart from that Distributed computing gives various advantages including enhanced adaptability, Scalability, and reduction in cost. At the business level, Application of essential business service models and deployment models used in business, Advantages, and
Cloud computing have revolutionized life as we know it; it allows people to store, manage, and access their data by using a network of remote servers which are hosted on the internet rather than using a local server or own hardware. A recent study conducted by KPMG found that 81% of businesses were either evaluating cloud services, planned a cloud implementation or had already implemented a cloud strategy [1]. Organizations tend to use the cloud to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Cloud is not a commodity, some people think that it comes out of the sky, while in fact it comes from physical hardware inside brick and mortar facilities which are connected to hundreds of miles by networking cables.
Cloud computing has quickly become a popular model where computing resources are made available on-demand to the user. The unique capabilities of cloud computing has created new opportunities for IT and businesses. Cloud computing uses the Internet for delivery of cloud storage capabilities as a service to any users. Through the use of cloud computing we can access virtually anything that we want from almost anywhere to almost any computer without worrying about anything such as management, cost, storage, etc. In this paper, we provide the reasons for the innovation of cloud computing, go over several cloud service and deployment models. It also explores the many benefits of cloud computing over the traditional service
