[SHORTENED TITLE UP TO 50 CHARACTERS] 3 The Importance of Subject Interviews Subject interviews are found in stories and fictional journalism and help to give a report on the events. The subject interview is done for many reasons that cover research, understanding, information, interpretation, and emotional. Research of the topic through interview helps to give personal context to the event. The understanding comes from the interview by learning the reasons for actions or the experience of an event. They are also used to share information about an event, issue, or subject that can have an impact on the public. Personal interpretation gives the audience the ability to relate to the topic or event through human experience. This personal interpretation also can have an emotional tone and helps the viewer see through their eyes or opinion. All of these are used in a subject interview and give more meaning to the story or report for the viewer. They can also be used to push agendas, political views, laws, opinion, and movements. They are what connects the viewer to the story and pulls them in with hopes to persuade, convince, explain, or connect with the story, event, issue, or topic. The story on Films Media Group by ABC News called “America Black and White, On Patrol” gives a report on the policing issue in America. One, the perspective and experience of two police officers view and opinion of police violence, public opinion, job danger. They also cover events, stories, BLM, and police defunding from the killings of people of color and many times unarmed. At 0.40 Juju Chang introduces officer Mark Black Well and Joey Agosto who give the issue of policing in America a human element. “Families Separated by US-Mexico Border Reunite in ‘Hugs Not Walls’ Event” was covered and produced by ABC News. In this video subject interviews can be enhanced by showing impactful moments of the events. In the “Hugs Not Walls” at :45 seconds to19 seconds left Deborah, finally gets to see her sister after ten long years. The event is regarding the wall
