Chapter 9, Problem 1WYL
What type of articulation uses dense regular connective tissue to bind the bones?
Expert Solution & Answer
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The type of articulation that uses dense regular connective tissue for binding with the bones.
Introduction:
A joint or articulation is the place of a contract between bones, between bone and cartilage, or between bones and teeth. Bones are said to articulate with each other at a joint. The scientific study of joints is called arthrology.
Explanation of Solution
A fibrous joint occurs where bones are held together by dense regular connective tissue. The dense regular connective tissue holds together the ends of bones and bone parts. There is no joint cavity present. For example, dense regular connective tissue connects skull bones.
