Question 6
Velocity vs Time
Time (sec)
Based on the graph of velocity over time, which could be the initial velocity and the final velocity for this graph?
O initial = 2.5 m/s; final = 2.5 m/s
O initial = 0 m/s; final = 2.5 m/s
O initial = 3.0 m/s; final = 6.0 m/s
O initial = 6.Om/s: final = 3.0 m/s
Velocity (m/s)
Posted below is a picture of a data table and a diagram of an experiment. In the experiment you rolled a marble down a ruler ramp off the end of a coffee table to observe projectiles and conservation of energy. You do 3 trials for each initial height. Each height is measured in meters.
h= initial height of marble off of table
Y= height of table off floor
X= horizontal distance marble goes from edge of table to where it strikes the floor
a) use the table to find information you need to solve for theoretical range and % of error in measured range.

- 25. A student wants to perform an experiment where they have to measure the time interval for a ball bearing rolling down a slope (as with your first practical), in order to determine the acceleration on the ball-bearing. They take 1 measurement for every distance (they move the end of the measuring equipment 10 cm further way every time), and then they plot a graph. This graph comes out with very scattered values that do not form a straight line at all. What could be the reason for this? Choose all correct answers. A. They should have taken more than one measurement at every distance. B. The stopping wires might have malfunctioned sometimes, so they should have made sure that the stopping wires only touched the metal when the ball bearing rolled over it. C. The graph is fine with only one value measured per distance. It is the acceleration that was not consistent. Nothing needs to be changed. D. The graph axes need to be adjusted to make the data show a straight line.arrow_forwardAn inclined straight line in an s-t graph means: The object is not in motion. Velocity is constant. For this series of 5 questions, a block is released from the position shown with a certain initial velocity. It then slides down the smooth (friction-less) path for which the function is given in the image. You will be asked to solve for different things. Please pay attention: the numbers may change from problem to problem since they are randomized. 2) As the block slides down, its potential energy converts into kinetic energy. If its initial velocity is 1.5 m/s (at x = 3 m), determine its velocity, v, at x = 3.0 m. Your answer must include 2 places after the decimal point and the proper unit.
