a. General Description: The TEMA-3 measures the early mathematical abilities of young children.
b. Materials Provided/Needed: Examiner’s Manual, Picture Book, Profile/Examiner Record Booklets, Student Worksheets, Manipulatives, Assessment Probes & Instructional Activities Book. Examiner and student will both need a pen or pencil.
c. Alternate Forms: The TEMA-3 has two equivalent forms (A and B).
III. ADMINISTRATION:
a. Age Ranges: The TEMA-3 was designed for children ages 3-0 to 8-11. It can also be used as a criterion-referenced or diagnostic tool with older students who are having mathematical learning difficulties.
b. Administration and Scoring Time: The TEMA-3 is not a timed test. Within reason, students should be given as much time as they need to complete a question. On average, students will be able to complete this test in 45 to 60 minutes. The scoring time should be minimal. The child receives 1 point for each item passed, and incorrect items are scored 0.
c. Types of Scores Reported: The raw score, age and grade equivalent, percentile rank, Math Ability Score (standard score), standard error of measurement, confidence interval, and ability score range are all recorded in the appropriately labeled spaces in the Profile/Examiner Record Booklets.
d. Starting Points, Basal and Ceiling Levels: The starting points are based on the child’s chronological age (shown in Table 2.1). The basal consists of the highest five consecutive items that are answered correctly. All
Communication and Training: These are to train those who need to help and assist with the test.

The test is administered in the spring and the results provide students, teachers, and parents with an objective view of the student’s strengths and weaknesses. The listening and speaking scores are combined to obtain an overall scale score, as are the reading and writing scores. The overall performance is determined by the scores in each combined area. A conversion chart is provided in each grade band, to convert the raw score to a scale score. Then depending on where the scale scores land will give you the placement level that the student is at. To move from one level to another both component scores must land in the upper level range. A student, who advances in only one

Student Assessment/Rubrics: Students will be assessed through observation during direct instruction and demonstration of knowledge on guided practice and individual practice. Students must score 80% out 100% on the individual assignment to demonstrate mastery.
* I work with large groups of learners, with a diverse age range, who might not have been in a learning or classroom environment for many years. Therefore, it’s essential that I conduct a thorough initial assessment along with college initial innumeracy and literacy assessments to identify potential barriers to learning and remove them as far as possible.
In order to determine Mr. Jones’ standardized scores, it was necessary for the counselor to follow conversion charts presented in the ABAS-II manual in conjunction with the scoring guide at the back of the test. In GAC, Mr. Jones

It demonstrations that I can interpret the data and validity of assessments results and communicate those results to partners and families in language they understand. Ages & Stages is a screen to determine if the child is has any delays in five developmental areas: communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving and personal-social and determine if future screening are recommended. The toddler was screen over a 2 day period with mother present the screening data suggested, giving his age should be referred to First Steps for further assessments in language, gross motor skills and cognitive
Cutoff grids appear on each Information Summary Sheet that can easily be compared with the child’s performance at that age interval to determine whether the child should be referred for further evaluation. At the bottom of the page, for programs with digital scanning capabilities, ovals may be darkened so that scores can be automatically scanned into computer records
