When Hicks tried leaving, he was killed with a blow to the head with a barbell. He dismembered the body of his first victim, put the body parts in plastic bags then buried them in the woods. After attending Ohio State University for one term, he dropped out because of how often he would drink; however, he enlisted in the army but was discharged afterwards because of his alcoholism. He then returned home to Ohio, where he dug up Hicks's remains, crushed them with a hammer and scattered the pieces even more farther in the woods. After an arrest, Dahmer’s father sent him to live with his grandmother in Wisconsin and he was arrested again for disorderly conduct the following year. In September 1987, the second person he murdered was Steven Toumi when they had checked into a hotel room and they both had a lot to …show more content…

He would use different techniques to inject acid or boiling water into their brains to turn them into a zombie like state. Residents of the apartments began noticing putrid smells coming from Dahmer’s apartment. On July 22, 1991, Dahmer tried to lure Tracy Edwards into his home. He was drugged and forced into the bedroom by Dahmer with a knife. Edwards, fortunately, managed to escape and two police officers picked him up. When the police arrived at the apartment, they entered Dahmer’s bedroom where they found pictures of dead bodies and dismembered limbs. They kept investigating the home which lead to a head being discovered in the refrigerator, and three more heads in the freezer, photographs of victims, and human remains. He was a hedonistic killer; a rapist and a cannibal. Dahmer murdered a total of seventeen males over his thirteen year killing spree. He was sentenced to 15 consecutive life terms in prison. The FBI eventually determined his ritual for killing his victims. Dahmer would take the male into his basement, strangle them and fulfill his sexual needs with the corpse. Sometimes, he would even eat the human flesh. He would only practice cannibalism on the victims he believed he truly loved. (Biography.com Editors). Dahmer was killed in prison on November 28th 1994 by Christopher Scarver (Biography.com Editors). The FBI interviewed Dahmer in prison. His exact words were “Lust played a big part in the murders. Control and lust. Once it happened the first time, it just seemed like it had control of my life from then on. The killing was just a means to an end. That was the least satisfactory part. I didn’t enjoy doing that.” (Bonn). It is obvious to the FBI that Dahmer is a hedonistic killer that falls under the “lust” subcategory because he said himself, lust played a big part in the
The two of them went back to Jeffrey's to drink some beer and smoke some pot. It seems that Jeff must have really liked Steve because when Hicks said that it was time he headed home, Dahmer decided that he did not want his new friend going anywhere. Jeff picked up a weight lifting dumbbell and struck Hick's in the back of the head. He then strangled him. Jeff then dragged the body into the crawlspace, under the house where it stayed for a few days. Eventually the smell became quite strong so Dahmer went down and cut the remains into pieces placing them into small plastic bags. He then put the bags in the bushes behind the house, eventually burying them. After a while Dahmer began to worry about the neighborhood kids digging up the remains so he dug them up and smashed the bones into pieces, which he scattered around the
The victim was picked up by Dahmer as a hitchhiker by the name of Steven Hicks. Dahmer took the young man home and offered him drinks and got him drunk. When Steven Hicks had enough and was ready to leave, Dahmer killed him by striking him in the head with a barbell and lastly, strangling him. After the killing of his first victim he then proceeded to dismember the body and stored them in plastics bags behind his parents’ home. Dahmer’s main method of operation was to lure, drug and strangle. What’s unique about this case is the lengths Dahmer will go to get rid of the bodies. Dahmer would begin to consume the flesh of his victims, mutilate and dismember their genitals for a souvenir as well as drill holes in their skulls. In addition, another oddly unique fact about this case was that most of Dahmer’s victims were predominately African-American descent and
Dahmer never kept his employment for long and most of them he was terminated from due to his excessive alcoholism (Davis, 1998). In school, peers taunted him often for being strange, lonely, and wild at times. Also during grade school was when Dahmer began to feel neglected by his parents after the birth of his brother David. Additionally, Jeffrey was sexually assaulted at age 8-years-old, this trauma may be linked to his homosexuality and his initial issues with intimacy. Dahmer began to drink alcohol by the eighth grade often reporting to classes drunk, this continued throughout his life (Davis, 1998). By the time, he made it to high school, Jeffrey was severely influenced by alcohol which caused him issues in school however; he did manage to graduate high

It didn’t seem that he could harm anyone, but by his teen years all of this changed. Jeffrey became isolated, antisocial, and non – identifying with other people (Creekmore, 2007). Dahmer was an alcoholic, which is a known disease that passes down through genetics from generation to generation. Jeffrey Dahmer’s grandfather was an alcoholic. His alcoholism was passed onto his grandson, and no one knows if the alcoholism had a link to his fascination of killing or performing weird acts on his victims. Jeffrey also came from a normal family that was not infested with criminals. He was the only one that had committed such violent, manipulative, and conniving acts (Creekmore, 2007).
