Jackson Bane 2/12/24 Ms. Schroeder Fossil Evidence for creation Every fossil discovered increases the body of evidence supporting the existence of God as the Creator. Fossils can be found everywhere from dried out lake beds to the tallest mountains. There are fossils everywhere, and the Cambrian Explosion, the South American Flood Boundary, and the preservation factor all give strong evidence in favor of creation. The idea that advanced organisms first showed up in the rock record is known as the Cambrian explosion. These creatures didnt, however, have any evolutionary origins. According to evolutionists, the Cambrian rock layers were formed around 540 million years ago. They say that metazoans, which are multicellular organisms, just come out of nowhere. But since there are no invertebrates in the layers below the Cambrian, this weakens the theory. In addition, there is a ton of evidence showing that there was a global flood. On the highest points of mountains, aquatic animals have been discovered. Large basins at the foot of mountains often had Late Flood deposits. The Cenozoic Green River Basin in the interior of the Rocky Mountains of North America is an interesting example of this. Fossils would have been carried by the waters and deposited where the water settled, in this case at the foot of mountains. The preservation factor is another factor that adds to the evidence of a global flood happening. A leaf nowadays shrivels up and crumbles to bits as it dies, however, lots of fossilized leaf records exist. “If a green leaf is stripped from a plant and submerged in water, the
still-living cells will swell, stretching the flexible membrane surrounding the cells and pressing against cell walls outside that membrane.” This is called Turgor pressure, and it is what causes a withering plant to stand up when watered. This way, if a leaf fell into water, it would still be intact. In this case, it's possible that a leaf fell into the water during the flood and became buried, leaving behind a perfectly preserved leaf impression. It's important to understand that the Bible is credible because it supports fossils in a very large portion of the data. The Bible is an amazing source for information about fossils, particularly in relation to the cambrian explosion, the south American flood boundary, and the preservation factor.
